Hello and welcome! This is such an exciting time for you both ! I’m Emily, owner and photographer at Emily Crall Photography. I’m so excited that you found me! Because I believe that getting to know my clients is the #1 way to ensure an awesome experience, I’d love to tell you a little about me! Here are a few fun facts to know!
- My husband, Kevin, and I met while working together at a bank during college. We got married on Good Friday in 2009 and left for our honeymoon on Easter Sunday, right before a huge snow storm delayed all flights out of the Midwest.
- We have two children: Henry and Perrin. They are our little loves and everything+more than I ever could've imagined or hoped for.
- I started my business in 2010, less than a year after we were married. I've photographed hundreds of weddings and love the unique personalities that every couple brings!
- I spent years of my life on a piano bench. Two highlights were competing in an international competition and playing for the Governor, both in the Governor's mansion and then, the next day, at the annual Iowa Prayer Breakfast. I still play for fun, just now at a more relaxed pace.
- I love peanut butter and chocolate chips. Preferably together and with a spoon.
- I've been teaching Pilates at a local gym for over 15 years.
- I love home design, decorating, and fashion.
- I love creating beautiful images, but, more importantly, I love serving my couples on one of the greatest days of their lives and witnessing joy upon joy weekend after weekend. What a dream job.
"We LOVED getting to work with Emily for our engagement session and wedding day! Not only is she incredibly talented, organized, and fun but she is also so thoughtful and helpful leading up to the wedding, and after too! We were especially appreciative of her communication, as she always was quick to respond and proactive with sending information. She was instrumental in making our day run smoothly and we cannot thank her enough. Choosing your wedding photographer can feel overwhelming, but we couldn’t have been happier with our experience with Emily!"

"Where do I even begin?! Bride-to-be who is reading this: Emily made my day SO MUCH more special! With all the stress that goes into this one day, do yourself one favor and choose Emily as your photographer because the photos are one of the only things you will continue looking at to remember during the years to come!!! She was so responsive with any questions that my husband and I had. She made sure that I was relaxed the whole day, had the schedule we created together, and she went over and beyond with our pictures and made me feel beautiful on our special day! Her photography skills are amazing and her presence was so calming and infectious during the day that it just made me relax, which is EXACTLY what you need on your wedding day! TRUST ME."

"Emily is the sweetest person you will ever meet and her work is impeccable. We hired Emily as our wedding photographer and she was worth every penny plus some. In all of our engagement and wedding photos, Emily captured some of the most amazing photos I’ve ever seen. On our wedding day, she captured the raw emotion and magic of the day. Our wedding photos literally tell a story of our wedding day. We are so beyond grateful to have had Emily as our photographer, and now friend. We still receive compliments about our wedding photos and how efficient Emily was throughout all of the pictures that had to be taken. If you’re looking for the kindest, sweetest, most talented wedding photographer, she’s your gal!! We will cherish our photos forever.”

I’m sure your mind is racing with all that needs to be planned. It’s all very exciting but it can also be somewhat overwhelming. You’re planning the day that you’ve been anticipating for a while and yet you only get one shot at it. By the time you get the hang of it, the wedding day (and planning) is over!
My goal as a wedding photographer is to make this one aspect of the planning process simple. Photography is more than just images, it’s a real part of your day. Not only do you deserve beautiful images, you also deserve an amazing photographic experience. When my couples feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera, that results in genuine, joyful images!
When I think back to my wedding day, I remember amazing memories....but most of the moments I remember really well are the instances that were captured in my pictures. They are priceless to me. Our photographer made us feel so incredibly comfortable and I experienced what it feels like to be in front of the camera as a bride.
Your wedding day is an experience from beginning to end and your photography is a huge part of that experience...shouldn’t it be fun? and enjoyable? and natural? I think so! My goal is to not only capture memories for my clients, it’s to create an experience that you will never forget.
One way I ensure that my brides and grooms enjoy the BEST photographic experience possible is through forming a relationship with my couples. I try my best to make sure that all of my couples and I are the perfect fit before officially booking. A couple should connect with their photographer, trust their photographer, and be excited about the whole process!
After booking, I love getting to know my clients through an engagement session that helps you warm up to the camera so that you are ready to rock and roll on the wedding day! By the time the wedding day approaches, my clients feel more like friends and that creates a safe and relaxed environment for photography, especially within a timeline.
Receiving just your digital files afterwards is a job half-done. As an artist, the final culmination of my service to you and the best way to remember your wedding is the artwork piece in your home: the album passed down for generations. Your wedding album is one of the most important investments you will make in all your wedding planning, and the only one that will increase in value over time.

THE WEDDING EXPERIENCE
I keep my pricing uncomplicated because I remember how many choices had to be made back when we were planning our wedding. The Wedding Collection I includes everything you need (almost half of my weddings every year only use 8 hours of coverage)! Collection II is my most popular collection, in part because it includes 2 extra hours of coverage, a second photographer for the most important parts of the day, and a stunning Heirloom Wedding Album! Don't miss the engagement session that is included, where we can take the time we truly need to make sure you're comfortable and relaxed and fully rehearsed for your wedding day! Collection III is for the couple who wants it all! No further explanation needed. ;)

With thick full-spread archival printed pages, my heirloom albums are both modern and traditional. I offer high-end leather- and silk-bound covers in a variety of shades and colors to complement your day. This is the perfect ending to your wedding experience and it’s a keepsake that you will be showing your children and grandchildren one day! This stunning album is included in the 8x8 size with Collection II and the 10x10 size with Collection III.

The Engagement Album is a stunning album of, you guessed it, your engagement photos. A lot of couples use this as their guest book at their wedding (though you don’t have to). It’s a beautiful keepsake to celebrate the transition from your time as an engaged couple into your new life as a married couple and can be beautifully combined with your guest’s well-wishes. The Engagement Memory Album is an 8x8 album filled with 20 pages (10 spreads) of your session images, designed in a way to leave room for signatures and comments. This album comes wrapped in a beautiful linen cover in several color options and further customization of embossing and/or an inset photo.

Your everyday love at its most romantic. I will gently lead you through movement and posing, providing you with direction, and ultimately showing who you are together at your most natural and relaxed (and in love).
Think of your engagement session as a dress rehearsal for your wedding. Because we have time at an engagement session, I will teach you everything you need to know about how to pose, what to do (where to put your hands!), and we'll have a blast while we're doing it!
On your wedding day, our time is much more structured and couples find that it's really helpful to have practiced with me beforehand. By the time your wedding comes, you'll be pros and we'll be able to get so many extra photos because you'll know exactly what to expect and do so the only thing you need to think about is enjoying the moment.
I shoot digital with Canon professional camera bodies and lenses. I edit in a bright, classic style to give you true-to-life colors and timeless images.
I am happy to travel for engagement shoots! I actually love it when my couples ask me to photograph them in a location that means something special to them! I typically book engagement sessions at least two months in advance and all of my collections include at least 30+ miles of travel.
I average 75-100 final, edited images per hour that I’m shooting. I love delivering my client’s files quickly and easily via an online gallery system. You will have the ability to print, share, and download your images.
Coverage includes 8 hours and that is a perfect amount of time for most weddings! There are some circumstances that call for additional coverage time (extra large bridal parties or two locations with a lot of travel time between, for example), and when we are finalizing your wedding day photography timeline, we’ll have a great idea of whether or not additional time is necessary.
I love being both interactive and discreet throughout the wedding day. There will be parts of the wedding day when I will need to be in control in order to accomplish everything that needs to be done while staying on schedule. There will also be moments when you shouldn’t even know that I’m there. I teach my couples how to pose and interact during your engagement session so you are naturals on your wedding day and don’t need quite as much instruction from me!
Once I have answered any questions you may have and you have decided that my Wedding Experience is exactly what you’re looking for, the next step is a booking proposal. I will create an online proposal that will walk you through the steps and, when you’re ready, you can save your date by choosing your collection, signing your contract, and paying your retainer online.
First Looks are my favorite thing to photograph and, while most couples choose them to alleviate stress, spend most of their wedding day together, and get all formal groupings of photos taken before the ceremony (fresh hair & makeup!), I understand not every couple wants to share a First Look. You are never required to do so and I work with all my couples to create a timeline custom to your day, factoring in the time of sunset and a flow that will give you the most amount of photos with the least amount of time gaps.
I’m so glad you contacted me! Enjoy this season of engagement and get excited about your BIG DAY because it’s going to be fabulous! Plan and prepare but always remember that at the end of the day, you’re marrying the love of your life and that’s all that really matters. Congratulations on your engagement and I look forward to hearing from you!
